Part#: 73L-CCV-TUBE

Have you ever wondered why your intake couplers (commonly called "boots") are always wet and oily (and in some cases even leak enough oil to leave spots on the ground)?  This is caused by the factory crankcase vent allowing the turbocharger to draw oily crankcase fumes into the intake.  These fumes are then forced through the turbocharger and into the rest of the intake, contaminating the intake tubes (and even the intercooler in later trucks).

This Crankcase Vent Tube replaces the factory crankcase vent adapter in the middle of the intake tract between the air filter and the turbocharger, deleting the factory crankcase vent connection. This will prevent the turbocharger from drawing in the oily crankcase fumes.  This is NOT a complete kit, it is just a replacement for the CCV adapter.  You will still need to rotate the crankcase vent housing on the valve cover 180° (you will need new o-rings for the housing, see "Related Items" below) and will need to supply a 3/4" 90° elbow, some 3/4" fuel/oil compatible hose and clamps as well as a few nuts and bolts to complete the installation.

Note: The crankcase housing on the valve cover MUST NOT be blocked!  It needs to be routed to atmosphere using some 3/4" hose.  Most people route the hose back to the rear of the truck, under the bed, in order to keep the crankcase smell out of the cab.  Any blockage in this hose can cause an increase in crankcase pressure, which can lead to oil leaks.

94-97 7.3L Note: If your truck still has the early style ORANGE intake tube on the turbocharger, this CCV adapter will not fit. You will need Fords updated intake tube in order to use this CCV adapter.
